Cleancult—the first household‑cleaning brand to package soaps and detergents in fully recyclable paper cartons—has entered a national partnership with Costco.
Beginning this month, the company’s award‑winning cleaners are available online and in more than 300 Costco warehouses across the United States, making it the largest club‑store rollout of zero‑waste home‑care products to date.

A First for Club Retail: Refillable Aluminum Bottles

Costco members can now buy a three‑pack of 20‑fl‑oz (≈ 577 mL) refillable aluminum bottles of Cleancult Multi‑Surface Cleaner in Lemon Verbena, Wild Lavender, and Sweet Basil. It is the first time an aluminum primary package has appeared in Costco’s home‑care aisle.
In parallel, the retailer’s e‑commerce site is listing Cleancult’s plastic‑free laundry collection, widening access to the brand’s paper‑carton refill system.

“Sustainability and affordability are not mutually exclusive,” said Ryan Lupberger, Cleancult CEO. “Partnering with a value‑focused retailer like Costco lets families slash plastic waste without sacrificing cleaning power, convenience, or price.”

Why It Matters

  • Consumer Demand A recent U.S. survey shows that 75 % of Americans worry about plastic pollution and favor policies—and products—that curb single‑use plastics.
  • Retail Momentum Costco has long encouraged waste reduction through bulk purchasing; Cleancult’s entrance aligns with the chain’s packaging‑innovation and emissions‑cut goals.
  • Industry Firsts Cleancult remains the only global brand that pairs refillable aluminum bottles with paper‑carton refills across multiple cleaning categories.
